My kid attend this dojo and i couldn't be happier. The Sensei is so attentive and caring for all his students. He truly has their best interests at heart. He take the time to provide additional online sessions of meditation, and fitness class for any of the students that can attend.
I can confidently say that i know my child is in 'good hands' with him.
One of the best things about having for child joining this dojo- communication with the sensei. He always communicate any concerns about your child and also responds to you in a timely manner.
If you have had your child in other program- you would know this makes such a huge difference, you dont have to go inquire and always ask how your child is doing. The proactive approach is so great and very mucb appreciated.
The fee you're paying doesnt come close to covering all that you and your child is recieving at this dojo. Looking forward to having my child at his dojo for a very Long time!

Apart from learning essential skills/daily practices, Daniel gained confidence and self-esteem from your classes. I mostly appreciate the way you promote parents' participation and the Friday classes. Thank you so much for all that you've done for us. Keep up the great work.

Kenseikan Canada has been a staple in the Scarborough Martial Arts community for over 30 years offering authentic and traditional Japanese Karate-do, fitness, meditation, & life skills. They have made Martial Arts accessible to all ages, backgrounds, and abilities by building on the pillars of honesty, respect, and gratitude. When you join you become more than just a student, you become a member of the Kenseikan family and the global family of Karate practitioners.

Dojo is the place my kids are looking forward to go to every Saturday. We are very happy with our choice. They learn not only karate but most important life skills they need and will need every day of their lives. The group is awesome, it is like a family. They all take care of one another and help out. Sensei is a very skillful and experienced instructor. Fees are reasonable as compared to other places, also the quality of the instruction is outstanding. I highly recommend this place for everyone who is keen to succeed.

I recommend Japan Karate Do for these reasons:
1. Sensei's and Senpai's will teach proper traditional techniques.
2. Their Facebook page is filled with amazing quotes to help you learn the deeper meaning of Karate.
3. This Karate class will teach you how to be a more humble, disciplined, and overall better person.
These are the reasons why I believe this Karate class is different from the rest! If you are looking for a class to enroll in this is the right class to join.

My kids attend this Dojo and they love it. Sensei Wijeiwardana is really good with children. He make the class very fun, interactive and engaging for all the kids. He has a very keen interest in helping the kids build self esteem and learn self defense. He is keen on technique and proper form, and the application of the Kenseikan principles to your everyday life. Be aware that the classes are weekly, and run for 3 hours - this works well for our family's schedule.

April 19, 2008 - New Year Demo received many oral and written commendations
Comments:
Sensei and the Kenseikan gang,
This year*s solid performance like every year, is attributable to the underlying
commitment and dedication of the Kenseikan organization and the individual members. It
was clear and evident that a lot of practice and hardwork, in the artistic and
entertainment sense- went into the production of this performance. I personally loved
when the children held the wrong signs or were in the wrong spot??, when attempting to
spell 'Happy New Year' . Very funny and hilarious yet innocent and natural. The audience
got a kick out of it. The sparring and the Katas sequences were all well organized also.
The sequence of events was well timed and every minute was full of excitment and
entertainment. Khudos to the organizers! Sensei you are an inspiration to the young
members by proving that you still have th power to break the thick ice blocks. I almost
felt pain in my hands when you hit the ice!
Overall great job by all! I also loved the title, HIMSA, which is acronym for what??? ;)

April 14, 2007 - New Year Demo was very successful. There was nothing but compliments for both items we presented.
Sensei and the Kenseikan team,
Kudos again to you! The demonstration held on April 14, 2007 at Winston Churchill was a huge success.
Like always the eager and dedicated individuals whether they were white belts or black belts made the event enjoyable and entertaining to watch. Everyone did a wonderful job and I was just in awe as to the response from the audience was. As soon as Kenseikan came on to stage, the audience and many people who were outside the auduitorium came rushing in to get a glimpse of the amazing demo. It is always the most popular item at the function. Once again, WELL DONE!

Comment received from "Toronto Brownies' after a Demo presented by our Sempai Kristian Kadirgamar (youngest Black Belt.)
The Demo Kristian did for the 334th Toronto Brownies took place on Wednesday April 13th at St Pauls United church where the Brownies hold their weekly meeting. He wanted to do something to get news about Karate-Do Kenseikan out to a wider audience and since Rachel is a member of this Brownie group he asked the leader if he could do a Demo for them. There were about 20 girls in the group ranging in age from 8-9 years. He began the Demo by telling the girls about Karate and about where Kenseikan originated. He then told told them about his own experience and the sequence in which he had obtained his belts, he passed the belts around so the girls could see and touch them .He explained that Karate teaches confidence, respect and discipline. He also explained that Karate is not a way to pick a fight but is to be used only to defend yourself.
Kristian is himself very modest about his Karate and made the girls understand that no matter what level you are at all deserve respect etc. a Black Belt does not make you better and that a black belt still bows to a white belt. Then came the fun part!! He did a Kata for the girls and at the end they clapped and asked him to do another which he did with good humour. After that he broke 2 boards which were held by the Brownie leader. The girls thought this was great and each wanted him to break a board for them which he promised to do if he got his Black belt,i guess i better start buying wood now!!!!
After this he took questions from the girls and answered them with his usual wit. At the end of the Demo he was invited to return should he get his Black Belt and the leader said it would be great if he could return each year when they get a new batch of girls. The comment which stuck out most was that from watching and listening to Kristian the Leader could tell that Kenseikan was not a "Canadianized Dojo which gave away Black Belts, but that they had to be earned". She herself had had some exposure to Karate in earlier years and knew of such Dojos. All in all the experience was one that everyone enjoyed and Kristin is looking forward to returning to show them his Black Belt and to thank them for helping him in some way to achieve this goal was one of the top choices we made. He is acquiring all the necessary knowledge and Skill for a child of his age. Sansai possesses great wisdom and extensive experience.
